We provide this notice on just about every page of the site, and definitely on every page where you are asked for the small amount of personal information that we actually do request.

 The Information We Collect:

We require the following information when you register: name, user name, email address. We ask for additional information on registering because many enjoy sharing and connecting on our community feature, but none of it is required. In other areas of the site you can volunteer enormous amounts of information about yourself. What you provide in those areas is entirely up to you, and what happens to the extra information is your sole responsibility.

Note: As a participant in the Trees of PA Community, you have the option of controlling your own privacy settings for the information you added to your profile. Your privacy options incude "public" (anyone visiting site can view), "site members" (only registered, logged in members can view), and "friends" (only those who you include as friends can view information). To review the settings and make changes, hover your cursor over "profile" on the Community Menu, then click on "privacy" and make your selections.

 How We Use Information:

We use the information you give us to furnish you with a unique User Name and Password on our site. The user name is chosen and created by you and it is your identity on Trees of Pennsylvania. It is entirely your responsibility to keep your password safe, and is in no way our responsibility. Use of the non-required information you provide is also your responsibility. When you choose to add extra information in your profile some of it may be set to private, but it is still on the Internet, and still can be accessed. Do not share anything you wouldn't want the neighbors to know about.

Data Security:

We make what we consider to be a reasonable effort to secure the core information you provide on this site. Our website is set up to be secure and all components used are standard and well tested.

Children's Privacy:

No one under the age of 13 is permitted to register on this site. We are very serious about protecting the privacy of children, particularly children under the age of 13. You can see the applicable United States of America law here. Site users are strongly encouraged to report cases of children sharing personally identifiable information on this site.

 How to View or Correct Your Information:

You can see your personal information by logging into Trees of PA and following the My Profile link in the Members Menu. Once on your profile page you may change your details or deactivate your account completely.
