Maximizing the Benefits for Your Business or Organization
We recommend using the following available features on Trees of PA to efficiently promote a business or organization's products and services. Click on each heading or scroll down the page for more details. (Full page view is required for the internal links to work in the outline immediately below - they do not work in the intro view. - Blog - Use your personal blog area as a landing page. Provide notices and links to other features using blog posts.
- Directory - List your business or organization.
- Community - Join groups or create your own group. There is no limit to how many you can join.
- Calendar - Post events in the Trees of PA Calendar.
- Forum - Direct users to a forum discussion for detailed responses.
We have other great resources on Trees of PA, but familiarizing yourself with these ones will provide the greatest benefit in the beginning. 
Blog
On Your First Visit
- Navigate to your personal blog page. There are two ways to navigate to this page: 1. On the Community Page: Community Menu Bar - Blog > View Your Blog, 2. Enter the following URL, substituting your user name for "username" in the address: http://treesofpa.com/current-topics/blog/blogger/username/.
- Name & describe your blog - From the Blog Menu (you must be logged in), select My Account > Preferences
Ongoing Blogging
- Post news releases, reminders, and anything else relevant to your business or organization. Of course, you do not need to limit your posts to official business.
- Coordinate other features from blog. Anytime you add a calendar event, post in the forum, or wish to make visitors aware of relevant groups and related activity in the Community, you can post in the blog and add all of the relevant links.
- Always include links to your Directory Entry and Community Groups with all blog posts. Visitors will then know how to get more information about your business or organization.
- Provide a link to your blog - The easiest way to get to your blog's home page is through the Community Menu Bar (Blog > View Your Blog). This is the page with the URL needed to give others direct access to your blog.
- Admin Blog - You can access the Admin Blog from the main menu bar (Current Topics > Blog > Admin Blog). We use the Admin Blog to provide updates on features and services available.

Community
We provide an exceptional online community experience and hope that you will join the fun. Of course, it is not even primarily about fun. The community provides an excellent tool for asking questions, providing information, and sharing experiences. Here are some options that you may want to consider:
Upload an avatar: Although having an avatar is not essential, let's face it, the little green guy doesn't do much for your profile. If you didn't upload an avator when you registered, you can return to it at anytime. You can also change your avatar. The steps are the same and include:
- From the Community Menu Bar select Profile > Change Profile Picture > Browse > select your image file > Upload.
Join and Start Groups: I think it's all about the groups! This is where you find other users who are living in the same area or looking for information on common topics. If you don't find a Group that meets your need, it's no problem! All registered users can start groups at any time. To review the current groups,
- Start with the Community Menu Bar, Applications > Groups > All Groups, My Groups, or Search.
- When you click on the group you will have the option of joining, unless it is private. Once a group member, you can start discussions, upload photos and photo albums, upload or link to videos, and post comments on the wall.
Invite a Friend: If you enjoy your experience and see the potential for the future of Trees of Pennsyvlania, we encourage you to invite others to join. We have made the process easy.
- From the Community Menu, Friends > Invite Friends.
- After adding email addresses and any message you would like to include, simply hit "send invite" and your invitation is sent automatically.
- Please note: you can also invite friends to join a group. This is a little different than inviting others who are not yet part of Trees of PA. The option to invite friends to join your group is for those who are already registered members who have become your friends in the community (While viewing another member's profile, you have the option of "add as friend." When the registered user accepts your invitation, you are now more closely connected and have addtional shortcuts available to you.)
Calendar
Visit our Events Calendar to post meetings, educational programs, social and recreational events, and anything else that you would like to publicize. The add your event to the Trees of PA Events Calendar, find the link "Add an event" near the bottom or the page. Click here to visit our calendar.
Forum
The Community hosted by Trees of Pennsylvania provides a great resource for sharing information and connecting with others who have similar interest. However, we provide our Forum for a more formal process of asking questions, responding to other members' questions, and making suggestions.
